Dragon armor claw gauntlets by Red-Dragon-Lord Dragon armor claw gauntlets by Red-Dragon-Lord
Finger ,eh I mean claw gauntlets for my current dragon armor project. Backs of hands made of 10 oz leather, fingers made of 6 oz. No glove here, made entirely of hand tooled leather. All fingers fully articulated and easy to move in. Lots of rivets in this one, but I tried to conceal them. Wrist and back of hand articulated also with scale tooling. Fingers tooled with smaller scales. All water molded and hardenened.

hey how much would it cost to get a commission of something similar? legit question cuz i am lookin into buying something LIKE that but minus the scale decal and sharper talons. same form of finger as opposed to the reverse look. and the left being white the right being black. looking for more of a plane useable thing rather than just for show. idk though so mind gettin back to me? :D

Appreciate your interest in my gauntlets. I really don't do commissions right now. I'm more of a hobbiest/cosplayer. I can recommend some good guys on here that can craft anything you need.

Would be interesting. I just personally have a thing I would like to have that can kinda be compared to a Dragon Age picture. It is the easiest way for me to describe it. Sorry it has taken me this long to reply, haven't been on DA in a long while and just barely logging in recently to not be limited on my viewing. And the offer on people you know that could help would be awesome. Recently got a job and I would be able to pay them ^^; sucks not having money yknow? haha. Great work on your full suit, and good luck with future projects~

Also: teach to me your craft~ it is interesting and I have always wanted to learn how people make some of these outfits for things like conventions... Never been to a con myself but I would really like to one day yknow?

I strongly recommend Samuel Lee of Prince armory . :iconazmal: He can make almost anything. His prices are fair for the amazing quality that he puts into his work and he loves doing custom stuff. Expect to pay a couple grand for a full suit.

As far a learning the craft, check out youtube. There is a guy that has some leather mask making tutorials that show you how to wetform leather and some painting and dying techniques. Trust me, I am still learning on every piece I make.

Ohhh, my gosh. This is staggeringly beautiful. I'm going to do some research about leatherworking so I can create armor or scales in a style similar to this, someday.

They were the hardest piece to make. Lots of little pieces and lots of rivets. They fit quit well and I have full freedom of movement when wearing them. Thanks for appreciating them!:)

Yes, I also tried to make gauntlets and I know how hard it is... Well, I don't know much about leather work, but in modelling clay... :faint: you never get such a perfect result ;-)

May one ask inquire as to how you "harden" the leather?

I water harden with hot water. Some people use wax. Too messy and I'm not very good at wax harnening.
